Olympic Fieldtrip

If you can believe it, I spent over 8 hours walking around downtown Vancouver on Thursday. Andie and I tried to see just about everything possible without waiting in any ridiculously long lines.
4 hours for tshirts?
8 hours for 20 second zipline rides (looks hella fun though[I want to bring back 'hella']) ?
Pass, thank you no.
My feet almost forgave me until I went to work today but they’ll get over it or I will replace them with llama hooves!
MOOCH!
This guy didn’t like me taking his photo… whatever.
He never told me if he wanted to buy or sell tickets either.
Decisions buddy, MAKE ONE!
Bear
Only you can put the “riot” in patriot.
Monumental
We took our sweet time getting down to the cauldron. Originally we wanted to go to The Bay for some official merch but the line-up was like 4 hours long when I got there at 10am, so we said “fuck this noise” and walked off.
Monumental
Perchance we walked past the Roots store and they had this hoodie so I grabbed it.
Mein hoodie was pricey enough to get me this free kickass tote bag.
+100 points for the shoulderstrap that made walking/life easier.
Sochi Place
After fire monument of awe time, we grabbed sammiches and then made our way over to the Russian Science World of Doom and Techno music.
I.E. Science World has become the house of Russia/Sochi Place.
They play really loud techno music there, it was almost scary.
O_O;
Russky Doom
I couldn’t help myself, I had to make this photo.
^_^;
Inukshuk
Around the bay area leading from Sochi to China house and GM/BC Place, people have been building these all over the shoreline from the rocks there, resulting in a little army of rock peoples.
The Olympic Line
We train jumped for a bit and then headed to Granville Island on their funny little Olympic Line train the city set-up.
Seriously, there’s wood panelling on the inside, it’s weird!
Swiss House
Granville Island is the French area and the Swiss area, the Swiss were awesome and gave us free Lindt chocolates and there were some street performers out there.
iLOL
Hippies Attacks this poor defenceless sign.
10 Paces At Sunset
From Granville Island, we headed back to Granville Street and then Robson and then Andie made me walk around in circles and blocks and parallelograms trying to find something that she forgot about because we became dazzled by The Batman!
The Batman
This guy was awesome, had the voice changer mic and really hammed it up for the tourists, chasing after this old guy and calling him Alfred!
Robson Square
My battery died after sunset, but we spent a while down on the streets with the crowds watching the hockey game for awhile.

The line-ups for the skytrains were over an hour long by then too so we kept waiting them out.

I have an asston of photos on my flickr that I won’t blog, or else this post will be miles long.

I wanna go back and see a few more houses next week before it’s all shut down, but for now I sleep.

Sleep is good.
